November 14, 1911.
Mr. Frederick W. Taylor,
Highland Station, Chestnut Hill,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
My dear Mr. Taylor:
The people in Geneva think I am crazy. They have seen me go down the street tossing my hat up in the air at least twenty times and catching it again with great agility and doing this about once a minute. A crowd followed me back to the office and wanted to know the reason for my exuberant spirits. I told them that my friend, Mr. Frederick W. Taylor, was going to deliver the Phi Beta Kappa address at Hobart College. They replied that it was no wonder I was happy and so I am. We shall all be here to give you a royal reception next Commencement.
I am sorry to hear that Mrs. Taylor is near being over taxed. For heavens sake don't let her get over the line of normal nervous strain. I am sorry to say that Mrs. Stewardson is no better since I wrote but I trust the change to Lakewood, which we make on Thursday of this week, may do her at least some good.
With very warm regards and thanking you more than I can adequately express for your willingness to come and deliver the address, believe me as always
Faithfully yours,
Langdon C. Stewardson
